As a prize-winning professional fine artist for the past 28 years, and a very original artistic consultant to schools and colleges, Stevie has exhibited his work both locally and in London, Switzerland, Canada and Sweden.
Stevie specialises in traditional oil, acrylic and watercolour painting techniques.
Having written and directed a play with music for children a few years ago, he later became an Artist in Residence to the Arts faculties of two local schools. The subsequent ‘artist’ days involved teaching secondary school pupils set-design techniques, paint effects, backdrop design and execution, and poster design for numerous drama productions. Stevie has also assisted the schools by teaching traditional drawing and painting techniques to encourage art as a profession.
More recently, his duties have included creating several aids to the learning support environment at Swindon College of Art and Design for groups including students with moderate disabilities or behavioural problems, and which also embraced those needing support because of visual, auditory or dyslexic difficulties.
In his spare time, he keeps himself very fit by walking and mountain biking. Stevie also enjoys playing numerous instruments, including guitar, mandolin and banjo. He is a founder member of three successful bands.His former band was The Greasy Gravy Blues Band. His current bands are The Stevie Gilmore Sound and Koribantez Latin Jazz Fusion Project. . Both bands perform regularly in various festivals and clubs.
